Suspended TRS leader M. Raghunandan Rao on Tuesday lodged a complaint with Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Joint Director V.V. Lakshminarayana seeking an inquiry into the “extortion” of money by the TRS leadership from industrialists.
Speaking to reporters after meeting the CBI officials, the TRS rebel said he had handed over whatever material evidence he had against the illegal collection of money by the TRS leadership. “I have complained against party president K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his nephew T. Harish Rao, who is also an MLA,” he stated.
He had given in writing the details about some of the illegal collection of money, Raghunandan said and alleged that the TRS leadership had taken huge sums from Matrix Prasad (Nimmagadda Prasad) and T. Ranga Rao of Stylish Homes, the agency appointed by Emaar Properties to sell its villas, apartments and villa plots in the Boulder Hills project. As both of them were already in the cases being probed by the CBI, the investigating agency could examine them to get his allegations confirmed, Raghunandan said. The CBI official had told him that they would seek legal opinion on the material submitted and call him again, if necessary.
Meanwhile, TRS polit bureau member D. Shravan alleged on Tuesday that Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and a few leaders in his inner circle were behind the malicious campaign against TRS. The fact that Mr. Raghunandan was provided police security within hours of his meeting the DGP on May 18 indicates the backing he was enjoying now as two MLCs of the party, K. Swamy Goud and P. Sudhakar Reddy, were not provided security even 45 days after their application, the TRS leader said.
