Training on cloud computing

G. Pulla Reddy Engineering College (GPREC) in Kurnool has entered into a collaboration with IBM to start an IBM Software Lab for Emerging Technologies to offer industry-needed skills to its students.

Under this collaboration, IBM will train faculty members of GPREC on its cloud resources and Big Data technologies so that they can transfer those skills to computer science training to students, GPREC director P. Jayarami Reddy said.

Pulla Reddy College is trying to work closely with industry to make its students to become industry-ready by the time they graduate, Dr. Jayarami Reddy said. The collaboration will help students develop skills in cloud computing and have better career prospects, Mr. Jayarami Reddy added.

Kaushik Bhaskar, vice-president (information integration and governance software), IBM, said the partnership would help the college impart technical and problem-solving skills to students preparing for careers in new technologies like cloud, analystics and big data.
