A Tamil Naidu-based daily wager in Bengaluru fell off the Brindavan Superfast Express on Sunday while on way to cast his vote at his native place Tirupattur. The incident occurred near Gudupalle railway station, 7 km from Kuppam. According to information, a couple -- Manohar (35) and Lavanya (30) -- migrated to Krishnarajapuram in Bengaluru a few years ago to eke out a living. Once in six months, they visit Tirupattur town in Tamil Nadu. On Sunday, they boarded the jam-packed Bengaluru-Chennai Brindavan Superfast Express at Krishnarajapuram. Manohar pushed his wife inside the packed general compartment and he stood precariously on the footboard. After a two-hour hardship, he lost the grip and fell off the running train.

Some co-passengers tried to stop the train by pulling chain. After a distance of 7 km, the train stopped at Kuppam railway station. Following information, the railway staff rushed to Gudupalle railway station and found Manohar profusely bleeding. He was taken to the government area hospital at Kuppam and his condition is said to be critical.
