The Telangana political Joint Action Committee (T-JAC) has decided to organise a public meeting in Hyderabad on September 29 to mount pressure on the Central Government to expedite the process for formation of separate Telangana State.
``Sakala Janula Bheri’’, as it would be called, would be preceded by preparatory meetings in all the district headquarters. The TRS, the BJP and other parties supporting the Telangana statehood issue extended their support to the meeting.
Speaking to reporters after a general body meeting, TJAC chairman M. Kodandaram and others demanded that Director General of Police V. Dinesh Reddy give permission for conducting the meeting. Expressing concern that the ongoing uncertainty was on account of the delay in the implementation of the CWC resolution, they urged the Congress leadership to speed up the process for separate Statehood.
Telangana supporters and parties should be cautious. There was no forward movement on the Telangana front after the CWC adopted the resolution on July 30,” Prof. Kodandaram said. He urged the Congress leadership to complete the modalities and introduce the Bill in Parliament.
The TJAC wanted Telangana Ministers to resign from their posts. The meeting adopted a resolution stating that there would be no compromise on the status of Hyderabad and that it would continue to be the capital of the Telangana State. Employees JAC leader Srinivas Goud described the ongoing agitation in the Seemandhra region as ‘artificial struggle’ launched by investors.
