he T-Hub, a one-of-its-kind incubation facility for technology start-ups conceived by the Telangana government, is to be formally inaugurated either in the last week of this month or first week of November.

Originally scheduled early last month, the opening had to be put off after eminent industrialist Ratan Tata, who was to inaugurate the facility, was indisposed.

According to Mr. Tata’s office, he has recovered substantially and agreed to participate in a couple of programmes of which T-Hub inauguration is one, IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan told The Hindu . The revised date of opening is likely to be in the last week of October or first week of November, he added.

Meanwhile, space allotment is under way at the centre whose built up area is 60,000 sq ft. Final touches are being given, he said on the feverish pitch at which the work is progressing on the facility on the IIIT-Hyderabad campus in Gachibowli. T-Hub CEO office has also started moving in there, he added. As regards start-ups moving in, the facility would be brought to use gradually.

On the second phase of T-Hub, which is to be developed at Raidurgam, a few km away, Mr. Ranjan said a competition to select the architectural design is under way. The response at the pre-bid meeting was very good, he said, expecting the process of selecting an architect to get over in about a fortnight.
