Three killed in road accident

Three people, including two children, were killed when a van rammed the autorickshaw in which they were travelling at Muthireddygudem village of Athmakur (M) mandal in Nalgonda district on Friday.

According to Sub-inspector of Police, D. Siddhaih, Ravirala Sathyamma (45) along with her husband Ramachandrudu, daughter-in-law Mamatha (24), grandchildren, Chandrahas (2) and six-months old Varshita were proceeding towards Timmapur village of Athamkur (M) mandal to attend a marriage .

Ramachandrudu was driving the auto when the van, belonging to another marriage party, rammed into the auto killing the two children instantaneously and seriously injuring the others. Sathyamma died while undergoing treatment at Bhongir Area Hospital, while Mamatha, who suffered a fracture on her left leg, and Ramachandrudu, were undergoing treatment at two different hospitals in Hyderabad. Their condition is said to be critical. The police have taken the van driver Chityala Sathaiah into custody.
