Three killed in road accident

Three persons were killed after a speeding lorry rammed into a motorbike and a stationary tractor at Pallipadu in Konijerla mandal on Thursday.

According to police sources, a lorry bound to Wyra hit a motorbike before crashing into a tractor parked on the roadside on the outskirts of Pallipadu in the morning.

Krishna, 25, who was sitting on the stationary tractor, suffered critical injuries in the accident. He succumbed to the injuries while being shifted to a hospital in Khammam.

Two persons, believed to be brothers, who were proceeding towards Khammam from Wyra on the motorbike suffered serious injuries in the incident.

While one of them died at a private hospital in Khammam a few hours later, another died during the course of treatment at a hospital in Vijayawada late in the evening, sources said.
