Three persons were injured in a road accident at Nandamuru village, near Manikonda, in the district on Sunday.

The driver, who was trapped in the cabin, was rescued after an hour. His screams for help moved the locals who dialled to ‘108 Ambulance’ service and the police. According to the villagers, the lorry proceeding towards Vijayawada hit a car and a bike before collided with the car. Two persons who were travelling in the car and a two-wheeler rider suffered injuries in the mishap.

Though the ambulance arrived after sometime, they could not provide first aid to the driver who was trapped in the car, the locals said. The lorry driver fled the spot leaving the vehicle soon after the accident.
