Three persons were injured as their car rammed into an RTC near the Papavinasanam area at Tirumala here on Friday.

According to TTD officials, the devotees — Palani, Janardhan and Varadaraj — hailing from Salem district of Tamil Nadu were returning from Papavinasanam to Tirumala when the mishap occurred.

The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a curve and rammed into an incoming RTC bus.

The force of the impact shattered the front end of the vehicle causing the airbags to open. The bus was also damaged. The trio suffered serious injuries and were shifted to the TTD-run Ashwini Hospital at Tirumala and their condition is said to be stable.
