‘The Hindu in School’ will conduct chess competition for students at Viswam educational campus in Varadaraja Nagar on July 31 (Sunday). Superintendent of Police R. Jayalakshmi will take part as the chief guest and distribute prizes to the winners.
The event, to be conducted for the first time in Tirupati in association with Andhra Pradesh Chess Association, will be an open competition for boys and girls. The competition will be conducted in two categories, viz., juniors (fifth to eighth class) and seniors (ninth to twelfth/Intermediate second year). Thyrocare is the official sponsor for the event.
