“Injustice will be brought to Chief Minister’s notice”

Minister for Minor Irrigation T.G. Venkatesh has faulted the sanctioning of Palamur Lift Irrigation scheme by the government.

Talking to reporters here on Sunday, he said the people and leaders of Kurnool had been fighting for Gundrevula reservoir that supported KC canal in Kurnool and RDS in Mahabubnagar district since quite some time.

Instead of clearing this project that would have helped both places, the government cleared the Palamur Lift Irrigation scheme much to the chagrin of local people.

Mr. Venkatesh said his colleague Sudarsan Reddy, who was responsible for the GO, was not available on phone.

He said the injustice would be brought to the notice of the Chief Minister.

He called for the withdrawal of GO no. 72 that was detrimental to the interests of people of Rayalaseema. Mr. Venkatesh said he would carry forward his struggle for an integrated State with the help of AP NGOs and would attend only the protests organised by the NGOs.
