March 31, 2015 09:55 am | Updated November 16, 2021 06:16 pm IST - ONGOLE:

Ten persons were injured when supporters of the ruling Telugu Desam Party and opposition YSR Congress Party clashed at Nagireddypalem village in Ponnalur mandal of Prakasam District late on Monday.

The injured were rushed to the Government Hospital in Kandukur and one of them with serious head injuries was shifted to the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) here, Ponnalur police said.

Kandukur Circle Inspector M. Lakshman said the clashes erupted in the wake of differences over spending of funds for the Sriramanavami celebrations. Both the groups nurtured enmity since the general elections. Police pickets were posted in the trouble-torn village to avert further trouble.
