Temple lock leaves TTD staff jittery

February 19, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 09:34 am IST - TIRUMALA:

Minutes before the arrival of Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena for the darshan of Lord Venkateswara, the temple officials were subjected to anxious moments in the early hours on Wednesday.

The cause of their disquiet was the failure of the staff in unfastening one of the locks of the inner temple doors. The doors have a multiple locking system. The incident was immediately taken up to the notice of the higher-ups who were present inside the temple. The staff heaved a sigh of relief when the lock was broken and the doors finally opened.

Meanwhile, the TTD’s DEO (Temple) C. Ramana rubbished the charges that the ‘Suprabhata seva’ was delayed.
