Temperature in AP soars above 40 degree Celsius

With the temperature soaring above 40 degree Celsius in many places in Andhra Pradesh, people were forced to remain indoors today.

Rentachintala of Guntur district recorded the highest temperature of 45 degree Celsius, MeT department said.

According to a warning issued by the Hyderabad Meteorological Department today, heat-wave conditions would continue in the districts of Nellore, Prakasam, Guntur and Krishna of coastal region of Andhra Pradesh over the next two days.

Tirupati, Nellore and Khammam recorded temperature of 44 degree Celsius followed by Nandyal in Kurnool district, Ongole in Prakasam district, Ramagundam in Karimnagar district and Kavali in Nellore recording 43 degree Celsius while Kadapa, Kurnool, Nizamabad and Nalgonda districts recorded 42 degree Celsius.

The maximum temperature rose at few places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and at one or two places over Telangana and Rayalaseema regions yesterday, it added.
