Telugu version of eighteen Puranas soon

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Executive Officer D. Sambasiva Rao has announced that the Puranas and Itihasas will be translated into simple Telugu for the benefit of the readers.

Taking part in the ‘Pandita Parishad’ meeting here on Thursday, which was attended by scholars from across the state, Dr. Rao directed the officials to get the books released at the earliest, adding that the completed works would be displayed on the website.

He said that 55 scholars t worked on the eighteen Puranas and brought a whopping 3,71,000 slokas to light.

The scholars should be paid remuneration immediately, he instructed Deputy Executive Officer (All projects) T. Sharada. Scholars Kesapragada Satyanarayana and K. Ramakrishnamacharyulu and Ramella Somayajulu were present.

Meanwhile, the TTD has also decided to bring various functional projects, such as Dasa Sahitya Project, Alwar Divya Prabandha Project, Dharma Prachara Parishad, Tarigonda Vengamamba Vangmaya and Sri Srinivasa Vangmaya projects which are located at various campuses in the city, under one roof.
