Ministers issue a fresh appeal to Seemandhra leaders to extend cooperation if the leadership takes a decision in favour of Telangana state

Three Ministers from Telangana have appealed to the Congress and UPA leadership to take a decision on Telangana which will be useful to the people of all regions of the State.

At the same time, they issued a fresh appeal to Seemandhra Ministers, MLAs, MPs and other leaders to extend cooperation if the leadership took decision in favour of creating Telangana state.

“All should abide by whatever decision taken by the leadership,” they said. The three Ministers- D.K. Aruna, D. Sridhar Babu and B. Saraiah- gave their opinions, each separately, after meeting Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy here on Monday.

They spoke in favour of creating Telangana state saying it was natural corollary of the “sentiment” prevailing among the people of the region for 57 years now. Ms. Aruna and Mr. Saraiah said creation of Telangana state was a commitment made both by the Congress party and UPA government.

She dismissed as “blatant untruths”, the reports that the Chief Minister was resigning and was unhappy over the reported decision by the leadership favouring creation of Telangana state. On the other hand, Mr. Sridhar Babu refused to react on the reports saying they were based on mere imagination.

Gade Venkat Reddy, a senior Congress leader vouching for unified State, also met the Chief Minister before stating that there were agitations in Telangana as well as Seemandhra regions. He felt that constitution of a second States Reorganisation Committee was the best solution. V. Sivaramakrisna Rao, chairman, AP Medical & Health Infrastructure Development Corporation, warned that the leadership would be held responsible if anything happened anywhere in the State following announcement of the decision.
