Hundreds of lawyers from Telangana region in Andhra Pradesh on Monday held a demonstration here demanding that the Centre immediately bring a bill in Parliament favouring the formation of a separate state.

The lawyers from various Bar Associations in all 10 districts of the Telangana region held a protest march at Jantar Mantar here. Holding placards and shouting slogans demanding the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, the lawyers tried to march towards Parliament, but were prevented from doing so by the police.

“We want Telangana”, “We need a separate state”, “Let Centre bring a bill in Parliament immediately”, read the placards carried by the lawyers, numbering over 1,000.
