Union Minister Kishore Chandra Deo has squarely blamed Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana for the present piquant situation arising out of decision to divide the State.
In a seven page note submitted to the Antony Committee, Mr. Deo said when the highest decision making body – CWC – discussed any issue the Chief Minister and the PCC president, were consulted. This practice was in keeping with the convention and the precedent that the Congress party always followed.
“The feeling among the people is, however, that one of them was keen that the State be divided as he hoped that such a decision will enable him to achieve his life’s ambition of becoming Chief Minister of a divided State.
“While the other believed that his position would be secured till 2014 only by prolonging the Telangana impasse,” he said in the note titled “Andhra Pradesh – present impasse- only permanent solution”.
‘Unfair method’
Further, he said it was ‘unfair and mischievous’ that both were openly accusing MPs and Union Ministers from Seemandhra to cover up their selfish and ulterior motives.
Allegations
Most unfortunate were the allegations and the public perception that both these leaders are sponsoring and encouraging violent agitations with a feeling of injured guilt.
“They are stoking the embers of discontent and engineering assaults on the elected representatives,” he charged.
The statement of TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao asking Seemandhra employees in Hyderabad to go back had created a feeling of insecurity and terror among the Seemandhra people, including those domiciled in the Telangana area for several years. He said such statements had enraged the students and government employees.
Fool-proof security
He asked the Centre to take full responsibility to ensure fool-proof security to the lives, property and jobs that are being held by people of Seemandhra. He raised the issue of sharing of Hyderabad revenue and division of assets and liabilities.
He demanded substantial financial package for building infrastructure and other facilities in newly created States.
Mr. Deo demanding trifurcation of the State said non-Telangana States should not be dependant on the mercy of Telangana for share of revenue.
The only solution in the present situation was to trifurcate the State and grant statehood for Rayalaseema also.
