Congress leaders from Seemandhra are making a last ditch effort to prevail upon the party’s central leadership against taking a favourable decision on Telangana statehood issue ahead of the CWC meeting.

The Seemandhra Ministers are meeting in Ministers Quarters Club House on Wednesday to review the political situation in wake of the signals from the high command that it was serious about taking a decision on the issue.
Minister for School Education S. Sailajanath told reporters here that the available ministers would be holding a meeting and chalking out a plan to visit Delhi. “When the statehood issue has reached a crucial stage, it is our duty to review the situation and draw our plans,” he said, adding that fewer MLAs and MPs may attend the meeting on Wednesday as they are away in their constituencies due to the Panchayat elections. He said the Congress high command had never said that it was for bifurcation or united Andhra Pradesh. The Minister said leaders from Seemandhra would agitate in all possible manner to see that their interests were not affected.
He hailed the decision of Seemandhra employees to agitate in support of united State.
Move to hold a meeting of Seemandhra leaders did not go down well in party circles with Medchal MLA K.Laxma Reddy advising party men from the three regions not to hold meetings that would vitiate the atmosphere.
In another development, PCC president Botcha Satyanarayana called on Union Minister S. Jaipal Reddy here and discussed the latest political situation. Mr Satyanarayana who was expected to leave for New Delhi dropped the plans.
