The Telugu Desam Party’s 3D campaign finally hit the road on Thursday with the Election Commission authorities giving their nod for operation of the vehicles fitted with the hologram technology for the election campaign.
After the TDP applied for permission to run the vehicles across the State along with the content that will be beamed through the vehicles, the Election Commission went through various aspects, including the existing rules, and accorded permission. Though permission was granted for operating five vehicles initially, Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwarlal reportedly permitted the party to operate more vehicles following a request from the TDP that it would be difficult to cover the entire State with five vehicles. The campaign vehicles beamed TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu’s address to people at Kompalle, Boduppal and Chevella and the campaign would branch out into other constituencies in Telangana.
At the same time, the TDP campaign managers are gearing up to deploy vehicles in Seemandhra region from Friday so that they could cover as many locations as possible before the closure of the campaign.
