TDP, YSRC, CPI(M) not invited for talks

Congress, TRS, BJP, MIM and CPI to attend Delhi meeting

November 07, 2013 02:48 am | Updated November 16, 2021 08:03 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

The Home Ministry has left out the Telugu Desam, the YSR Congress and the CPI (M) from the upcoming talks on Telangana and sent out invitations to only five parties that have either supported division or reconciled to the inevitability of the Centre’s decision.

The three parties did not respond to the Ministry’s letter to respond to the Terms of Reference of the Group of Ministers (GoM) as against the Congress, the TRS, the BJP, the MIM and the CPI which sent detailed suggestions on how to go about the process of bifurcation. The latter have been invited to attend separate meetings in New Delhi on November 12.

Sources said the GoM would meet on November 7 to study these reports and seek clarifications, if necessary, on November 12 when each party has been given 30 minutes’ time. The discussions will begin with MIM representatives at 11 a.m. followed by representatives of the BJP and the CPI and, in the evening, with Congress and TRS members separately.
