After 11 hours of sit-in, nearly 60 Telugu Desam MLAs were evicted from the Assembly and shifted to their party office at NTR Trust Bhavan late on Friday night.

The agitating TDP group was demanding a debate in the House on the severe power crisis in the State.

The police swooped on the Assembly premises in large numbers around 11 p.m. and switched off power supply before evicting the legislators The air-conditioners and lights all were turned off.

The legislators were herded into two Eicher vans without being noticed by a large contingent of media personnel present there, and driven away to Road No. 2, Banjara Hills, where the party office is located.

Earlier, several hours after starting their ‘dharna’ inside the Assembly demanding immediate discussion on power crisis, the TDP Telugu Desam Legislators remained unrelenting late on Friday night even as the Legislative Affairs Minister D. Sridhar Babu and Legislature officials promised to include the subject in tomorrow’s agenda.
