Telugu Desam MLA Payyavula Keshav staged a sit-in in front of the office of the State Electricity Regulatory Commission demanding an order to check 12-hour power cut in villages.

He staged the demonstration a few hours before the Commission Chairman A. Raghotham Rao was to demit office on expiry of his term. Mr. Keshav insisted that Mr. Rao should issue the order before he left the portals of the office. The Chairman initially maintained that he would decide after consulting other members of the panel, but assured that the panel would issue the order before April 28 when Mr. Keshav refused to leave the place. The MLA withdrew the agitation after the assurance.
