Even as the Telugu Desam continues to admit senior leaders of Seemandhra switching loyalties into its fold, party president N. Chandrababu Naidu attributed the defections to the party’s proven track record of ensuring accelerated development in the new State.
The TDP was confident that the polls will by-and-large be one-sided in the Seemandhra region as people hurt by the manner in which bifurcation was done were looking at an effective leadership that could ensure fast-paced growth.
Mr. Naidu on Wednesday admitted into the party Mandali Buddha Prasad and Pinnamaneni Venkateswara Rao, two senior Congress leaders and former Ministers from Krishna district.
They said they had decided to join the TDP as it had the capability and vision to transform the successor State of Andhra Pradesh into an industrial and knowledge hub.
He asserted that the TDP alone had the capability to develop Seemandhra on a par with Singapore and the party was committed to do this if it was voted to power.
