A section of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) workers from Kondepi Assembly(reserved) constituency staged a demonstration in-front of the NTR Bhavan here on Saturday, demanding that the leadership allot a ticket to their leader T. Sudhakar Babu, hailing from Madiga community.

A large number of party activists led by local TDP leader Christopher Madiga swarmed the party office and raised slogans, demanding that the party ensure justice to the Madiga community, who had been the backbone for the TDP.

The party activists feared that the party would be defeated in the coming elections if D. Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy, hailing from Mala sub-caste, was fielded, as the case was in the 2009 Assembly elections.

Kondaiah Yadav revolts

Meanwhile, TDP Ongole Parliamentary constituency in-charge M.M. Kondaiah Yadav had also raised the banner of revolt. Disinterested in contesting the polls from the Ongole Assembly seat, he wanted the party to field him from Kanigiri Assembly constituency, where the BCs had a strong presence.
