Telugu Desam Party (TDP) N. Chandrababu Naidu was forced to suspend his padayatra on medical advice for a day on Saturday but has decided to resume it on the 27th day on Sunday.
This was stated by senior leader of the party Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy from Shetti Atmakur village near Gadwal in Mahabubnagar district, where Mr. Naidu is camping after he suffered a minor back injury after the dais from which he was speaking collapsed on Friday night. He told The Hindu that Mr. Naidu was firm and determined on resuming his walkathon on Sunday in spite of the doctors’ advice.
“All medical test have indicated that there is nothing to worry. Doctors, including the team from Hyderabad, have said that Mr. Naidu is suffering only from muscle pains. Based on the reports, he has decided to resume the padayatra, though doctors and party leaders urged him to take a a break for two-three days”, Mr. Reddy stated. Mr. Naidu was said to have came out of the special bus in which he is taking rest during the yatra twice on Saturday and was feeling little uneasy walking. His wife Ms. Bhuvaneswari and his son Lokesh were also camping in the village along with him to take personal care. Film actor Junior NTR also called on Mr. Naidu after suspending his film shooting. Jr. NTR said “he has taken up the programme for the benefit of masses and I pray to the god for his fast recovery. I too will join the padayatra once I complete the shooting for my Baadshah film as his effort is to restore the past glory to the State apart from rejuvenating the party”, Jr. NTR said. A large number of party leaders, D.K. Bharathsimha Reddy, husband of Minister for I&PR D.K. Aruna, also called on Mr. Naidu.
