Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu has intensified his efforts to convince the national parties to mount pressure on the Centre to address the concerns raised by Seemandhra people before going ahead with bifurcation of the State.
Mr. Naidu who addressed the party’s Praja Garjana at Tadepalligudem in West Godavari on Saturday left for New Delhi from Vijayawada this morning. He had been invited to participate in the kisan sammelan, farmers’ conclave, organised at Chandigarh. According to TDP sources, the meeting will feature participation of senior leaders like BJP president Rajnath Singh and Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal in addition to Chief Ministers from few States.
The TDP president’s visit assumes significance as the bifurcation Bill is expected to be taken up for discussion in the Lok Sabha on Monday afternoon after the passage of the vote on account budget. The TDP president is likely to hold confabulations with the senior leaders on the ``unilateral manner’’ in which the Congress-led Government was going ahead with bifurcation setting aside constitutional norms and traditions.
