The Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu has exhorted the Seemandhra people to convert the adversity into opportunity for ensuring accelerated growth of the successor State of Andhra Pradesh.

Mr. Naidu has plans on the development activities that could be taken up by tapping opportunities offered in the Seemandhra region.

“The name Andhra Pradesh itself puts the new State in an advantageous position as the State is known for its prowess in IT and other sectors across the globe,” he said at the interactive session of a programme organised by the AP Journalists Federation here on Sunday.

The TDP president forecast “tremendous potential” offered by the 13 districts owing to their geographical location and natural resources. People should, however, not get discouraged as it would hamper the accelerated growth of the new State.

There were, however, opportunities in the form of growth corridors with Rayalaseema districts playing a key role in the development of mineral corridor and the coastal Andhra districts providing scope for a series of agri corridors.

The area between Visakhapatnam and West Godavari could be developed as a petro corridor while a temple corridor could be established covering all major places between Srisailam and Simhachalam.

The long coastline offers scope for aqua corridors at more than one place as also the potential offered in some districts like Visakhapatnam for promoting pharmaceutical corridor. But, to harness these opportunities, the new State needed an effective leadership which could be assured by the TDP.
