TDP, BJP firm on railway zone

Won’t allow it’s location anywhere else, they say

The TDP and the BJP on Saturday said they were firm on their stand on railway zone with Visakhapatnam as the headquarters and scoffed at speculation that other options were being considered.

HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that the TDP stand was irreversible. City BJP president M. Nagendra said the zone was in discussion stage. “Our stand is very clear. We are not considering any other place,” he said.

He said the Railway Board had earlier examined the demand for the new zone and found it technically not feasible.
