YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has requested Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan to take action against the TDP government in Andhra Pradesh alleging that it was sponsoring political murders.

In a representation to the Governor here on Monday, Mr. Reddy urged the former to direct the State government to hand over the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation as he had no faith in the State agencies.

Speaking to news persons after meeting the Governor, the YSR Congress Party president stated that he and his party leaders had explained the circumstances that led to the killing of Narayana Reddy, party’s in-charge in the Pattikonda Assembly. “It's a planned murder by the State since the slain leader was not provided gunmen (personal security officers) even after approaching the court on the impending threat to his life from his rivals,” he said.

‘Ridiculing democracy’

“We have also explained how the ruling TDP is ridiculing democracy across the State by targeting its political rivals and resorting to physical elimination of rivals if they fail to toe the ruling party’s) line,” Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy added.
