TDP accuses Governor of shielding ‘tainted’ Ministers

April 15, 2013 02:22 pm | Updated July 24, 2016 01:55 am IST - WARANGAL:

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP), on Sunday, demanded that the Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan dismiss all the Ministers pulled up by the Supreme Court for issuing controversial Government Orders.

TDP senior leader Kadiam Srihari, accusing the Governor of failing to fulfil the Constitutional duties, said Mr. Narasimhan evinced keen interest in suppressing the separate Telangana movement, but failed to act on the corrupt Ministers.

“The government should uphold the ethics. But, he is protecting the Ministers who are named by the agencies in their charge-sheet on corruption allegations,” Mr. Srihari pointed out. The TDP leader sought to know what was the government doing when the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was finding fault with the Ministers one by one in the State Cabinet. The Governor should have acted promptly by removing them from the Cabinet, he opined.

The Chief Minister, instead of recommending for the removal of the tainted Ministers, has been trying to protect them. “It is time that the government dismiss Ministers Dharmana Prasada Rao and Sabitha Indira Reddy from the Cabinet,” the TDP leader said.

The inaction on part of the Governor and the Chief Minister would have severe consequences in the society.
