Minister for Major Industries J. Geetha Reddy has said that there will be no backtracking by the Union Government on Telangana issue and anyone can stay at Hyderabad and none can raise any objection.
Speaking to reporters after formally laying the foundation stone for the construction of nagar panchayat building at mandal headquarters on Friday, Dr. Geetha Reddy said that the leaders and the people of Seemandhra should come out with what they needed instead of creating obstructions for the formation of separate State.
“AICC president Sonia Gandhi will never go back once a decision is taken and the same will be the case with Telangana as well. The bill on Telangana will be passed in Parliament shortly and this the was result of 60 years of democratic fight by the people of the region,” she said adding that about 1,000 people had sacrificed their lives for the cause.
On the apprehensions expressed by the leaders and people of Seemandhra region about their security, Dr. Geetha Reddy said that people from different parts of the nation were staying in Hyderabad and everyone had right to stay there. She said that the people of Andhra would have a chance to construct a beautiful capital after bifurcation leading to development.
