Sujana leads TDP celebrations

The Telugu Desam Party organised Ugadi celebrations at the party’s headquarters, NTR Trust Bhavan, on Friday morning.

Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Y. Satyanarayana (Sujana) Chowdary led the party leaders and cadre in the celebrations.

The celebrations commenced with Ganesh puja and the participants, including Telangana TDP president L. Ramana and working president A. Revanth Reddy, were served the traditional Ugadi pachadi by the Brahmins who performed the traditional rituals to mark the onset of the new year.

Vedic scholar Siddanti Sankaramanchi Sivasai Prasad explained the significance of Ugadi to the participants and later read the panchangam (almanac).

Ugadi celebrations were also held at YSR Congress headquarters Lotus Pond. YSRC president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy and honorary president Y.S. Vijayamma participated in the festivities organised in this connection.

Vedic scholar Marepalli Ramachandra Sastry, who explained the salient features of the almanac, said the coming year would augur well for the YSRC.

Mr. Reddy, who performed special pujas on the occasion, hoped that the new year would bring prosperity and joy to all Telugu speaking people in the two States and those living outside.
