Students JAC seeks notification to fill 1.5 lakh jobs

Andhra Pradesh Students’ Joint Action Committee on Saturday asked the government to issue notifications for all the 1.5 lakh posts in the State.

Speaking to media here, JAC president Lagudu Govinda Rao, political JAC leader J.T. Ramarao, Srikakulam Intellectual Forum representative G. Narsu Naidu and others said that the government was always giving indications over recruitment of 1,10,000 posts but the actual notification had not yet been given in the State.

Mr.Govinda Rao said there were 1.42 lakh posts were lying vacant during the bifurcation time and their number had gone up to two lakh in the last two years. “Economic activity and industrialisation will create more job opportunities. And it is possible only with the Special Category Status for the State. The government should try honestly for the tag to create jobs in private sector too,” he added.

Fast strike threat

The JAC leaders threatened to launch hunger strike in the first week of July if the government failed to take up recruitment process. They also indicated that the fight would continue seeking allocation of Rs. 15,000 crore for the north Andhra region and establishment of the Central University in Srikakulam district.
