The Samaikya Rashtra Parirakshana Vedika has warned that there will be no let-up in the indefinite strike being observed in the 13 coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema districts.
President of the APNGO Association, P. Ashok Babu, said the strike would be intensified in the coming days.
The stir has completely paralysed the administration. Personnel from the Revenue Department, Municipal Administration, RTC, electricity, the Transport and Education Departments have already served strike notices to the government. He said private buses would be stopped on highways, if they continued to defy their appeals.
A roadmap for the next 15 days was announced at the meeting. The strike will be intensified with blocking of State and National Highways from Itchapuram in Srikakulum district to Tada in Nellore District on August 20, forming human chains on all National Highways and launching of relay hunger strikes from August 22.
In a charged atmosphere marked by shouting of slogans by employees, Mr. Ashok Babu said that the battle for keeping the State united would be taken to Hyderabad where a massive meeting would be organised soon.
General secretary of National Mazdoor Union of RTC, RVSSD Prasada Rao said the union would prevent all attempts by the management to ply buses from Alipiri foot hills to Tirumala.
Revenue Association convener, B. Venkateswara Rao said revenue personnel would stop giving caste certificates, while student JAC convener warned they would disrupt counselling for admissions to engineering beginning August 19.
