Calling upon the employees of the Revenue Department to keep themselves fit and healthy, District Collector H. Arun Kumar on Friday said that the employees could give their best to the society only when they were active.

“Revenue services are playing an important role in the administration and the employees need to work even in odd conditions such as calamities. It is very important to ensure physical fitness at the individual level, for which a regular physical exercise will be of great help to you,” he said while inaugurating the three-day sixth revenue sports and cultural meet at the District Sports Authority Stadium here.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Arun Kumar said that the sports meet would help the employees get recharged and rejuvenated, and the break from the routine work would make them undertake their duties with a new vigour.

He advised the employees to practise yoga and meditation regularly, which would help them get rid of the tensions in their daily lives.

Joint Collector S. Satyanarayana, Revenue Divisional Officer B.R. Ambedkar, president of the A.P. Revenue Services Association Bopparaju Venkateswara Rao and others were present.
