Union Minister of State for Finance J.D. said on Monday that Andhra Pradesh had been bifurcated as per constitutional provisions and added that Congress party had done justice for both States.
Speaking to newsmen here on Monday, the Minister said bifurcation was a good sign for developing Rayalaseema and Andhra regions and all the parties should focus on improving education, health, irrigation projects and other infrastructure in Seemandhra State.
“We invested a lot in Hyderabad. Now, leaders of all political parties should stop blaming each other and concentrate on developing the new State.
Mr. Seelam also defended the decision to keep Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy temple in Bhadrachalam in Telangana and said that A.P had major shrines like Tirumala and Kanaka Durga temples.
Alleging that the BJP had prevented UT status for Hyderabad, Mr. Seelam said the BJP would not have objected to giving UT status for Hyderabad city, and merger of Kurnool and Ananthapur districts in Telangana State if it had had concern for Seemandhra people.
Congress party had done its exercise to provide protection for Telugus in Hyderabad, special status for Andhra Pradesh, construction of Polavaram Project and setting up of educational institutions, hospitals and other facilities in Seemandhra State, but not the BJP, said the Minister.
