The State government will create a land bank of 10 lakh acres and woo industrialists with the best of industrial infrastructure including power, water and fibre optic connectivity to ensure ‘'rapid industrialisation of Navyandhra’. Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) Chairman P. Krishnaiah told reporters here on Tuesday that “Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is very particular on identifying government waste land in blocks and freeze them for industrial use.”

“As far as possible we will avoid acquisition of farm lands and those from private persons,” he said.

“Focus will be on creating a land bank of over one lakh acres each in Prakasam, Nellore, Chittor, Kadapa, Kurnool and Anantapur districts to spur industrial growth in this region,” he said and added the identified land would be linked with Google map to protect them from any encroachment.

He patted Prakasam Collector G.S.R.K.R.Vijay Kumar for identifying about 60,000 acres of government waste lands for, among other projects, Rs. 38,000-crore National Investment and Manufacturing Zone, Rs. 5000 crore Donakonda Mega Industrial hub and a mega solar park at Kanigiri. “We will be able to easily meet the target of one lakh acres in due course,” the Collector said. Urging the officials to identify land close to Ramayapatnam, he said two to three private players had evinced interest to develop the port as also port-based industries.

He also wanted them to identify land in blocks of different sizes to meet the needs of industries. ''It is not at all necessary to select land close to the National Highway. We can ourselves develop roads and other infrastructure for industrial estates little away from expressways,” he added.
