KEK says government released Rs. 1,100 crore in two phases to Kapu corporation

The government is committed to the welfare of Balija, Kapu, Telaga and Ontari communities and released Rs. 1,100 crore in two phases so far to the State Kapu Welfare and Development Corporation, Deputy Chief Minister K.E. Krishnamurthy said on Tuesday.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was ensuring transparency in governance and fulfilling his promises, Mr. Krishnamurthy said in a meeting organised by the corporation in TGV Kalakshetram in Kurnool. The primary avocation of Kapus was agriculture and the government was striving to improve their standards of living, he stated. The Deputy Chief Minister told Joint Collector C. Harikiran to acquire the requisite land for constructing Kapu Bhavan. He handed over a cheque for Rs. 3,13,75,000 to banks towards subsidy to 344 beneficiaries who applied for financial assistance. Corporation chairman Chalamasety Ramanujaya said the government was pro-Balija and assured welfare of the communities. He sought the support of the communities to the government. Mr. Naidu assured to sanction Rs. 1,000 crore every year to Kapu Corporation, MLC Silpa Chakrapani Reddy said. Kurnool MLA S.V. Mohan Reddy stressed on promotion of literacy and told Balija community to use the corporation’s assistance to gain livelihood.

Kapu Corporation Executive Director Lala Lajpat Rai. Directors Ramachandra Rao and Murali, Kapu Sangham district president Narayana Reddy, city president Sunkara Vijayasankar and others participated.
