Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy has announced a contribution of Rs.50 crore on behalf of the State government towards relief works in Uttarakhand.
Of the amount, Rs.10 crore would be for Uttarakhand government for the rescue and relief works and Rs.40 crore would be spent through Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams for the construction of ‘Pilgrim Amenities Complexes’ at Kedarnath, Badrinath, Yamunotri and Gangotri (Chardham) costing Rs.10 crore each. Mr. Kiran Reddy who reviewed the progress of rescue and relief operations with the Chief Secretary and other officials here on Saturday also announced an ex gratia of Rs.5 lakh to the families of State’s pilgrims. A decision was also taken to sanction an ex gratia of Rs.5 lakh to each of the families of Jawan Yadaiah of Mahabubnagar district who died in the terrorists’ attack in Jammu and Kashmir and Vinayakan of Chittoor district who died in helicopter crash during the rescue operations.
Mr. Kiran Reddy also announced a house site at their native place and employment to the eligible kin of the deceased Jawans.
