Several devotees thronged the banks of the Godavari in Rajahmundry to witness ‘Srivari Santi Kalyanam’, listen to ‘Panchanga Sravanam’ and enjoy the traditional cultural programme arranged by Annavaram Sri Veera Venkata Satyanarayana Swamy vari Devsthanam on the occasion of Jayanama Samvatsara Ugadi on Monday at Pushkara Ghat. The utsavam is being conducted for the fourth consecutive year for the well-being of farmers.

The programme started with puja to idols which were brought in a chariot from Annavaram.

During ‘Panchanga Sravanam,’ Prabala Subrahmanya Sarma said that the year was going to be fruitful than the past three years and Seemandhra would prosper. ‘Kavita Gosti’ by a mix of young and old poets was received well by audience, and ‘Vedaphtanam’ by Chirravuri Srirama Sarma and Yarravilli Gowripathi Sastry was followed by felicitation to Vedic Pandits and literary personalities.
