It was a rare home coming for Kidambi Srikanth, World No. 2 Badminton player, when the champion shuttler was accorded a warm welcome.
District Collector Kona Sasidhar facilitated Mr. Srikanth at his office on Friday and lauded the efforts of the champion shuttler in scaling new heights by winning the French Open and Denmark Open.
The Collector said the district administration would allot land for the shuttler in the place of his choice.
Thanking the Collector for taking the initiative, Mr. Srikanth told mediapersons at the collector’s office here on Friday, that he would help budding shuttlers and come to Amaravati whenever the State invites him.
Mr. Srikanth was accompanied by AP Badminton Federation secretary Rayapati Ranga Rao and Srikanth’s father, Krishna.
