Fervour marked the procession of the Golden Chariot organised on Sunday as part of the ongoing three-day annual Vasanthotsavams at the temple of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala.
The processional deity of Lord Malayappa Swamy, flanked on either side by his two divine consorts Sri devi and Bhoo devi, mounted atop the sparkling golden chariot, was taken along the mada streets of the temple town.
Thousands of devotees congregated to witness the event. The chanting of Govinda namam by devotees let an air of spirituality to the ambience. The divine procession lasted for more than one hour. Later in the afternoon, ‘Snapana Thirumanjanam’ was carried out at the Vasanthotsava mandapam followed by a grand procession back to the main temple complex.
