Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed the officials to speed up works on Kia Motors project, which is coming up at Yerramanchi village in Penukonda mandal of Anantapur district.

Mr. Naidu, who reached Puttaparthi airport on Sunday, reviewed the progress of the project with officials.

Anantapur district Collector G. Veerapandian, in a PowerPoint presentation, explained the Chief Minister about the environmental clearances, issuance of No Objection Certificates (NOCs), temporary accommodation facility at AP Tourism, survey of project site through drones, power and water supply at the project site, and uninterrupted fibre connectivity.

He said they were planning to dig additional borewells to supply water to the project site, training centre, and township.

Advice to company

Mr. Naidu told the officials that necessary clearances and permissions from the Industries Department would be given as soon as the government received the proposals.

Kia Motors would also have to stick to the schedules and start production, he said.

APIIC zonal manager Ragunath, Industries general manager Sudarsan Babu and others were present.

Plans for Puttaparthi

Later, Mr. Naidu interacted with representatives of Sathya Sai Central Trust. Speaking to them, he said the government and the Trust would have to work together in developing Puttaparthi as a big spiritual centre.

The government would extend all its cooperation if the Trust members came up with concrete proposals, he said.

Trust members J. Ratnakar, Prasada Rao, Vijaya Bhaskar, and Prasanthi Council member H. J. Dora and others were present.
