Special court posts Lakshmipet Dalits murder case to July 29

The Special court established in Lakshmipet of Vangara mandal, Srikakuam district heard the arguments of both the parties in the case related to the murder of five Dalits in June, 2012.

Special judge and fifth additional district sessions court judge Gopalakrishna Rao posted the case to July 29. Palakonda Deputy Superintendent of Police Adinarayana and Public Prosecutor Nagamalleswara Rao provided the details of the ghastly incident in which many Dalits received injuries five persons were murdered while trying to protect the lands near Madduvalasa reservoir.

Defence lawyer Vana Krishnachand told the court that a few innocent persons had also been charge-sheeted in the case.

He said that a few employees A. Srinivasa Rao and three others were not present at the scene of offence but their names were including in the First Information Report.

He submitted the evidence saying that they were on the official duty and not involved in the case.

Heavy security has been arranged at the court premises and several Dalit families attended the court seeking justice.
