Applus+, one of the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification companies, plans to invest about Rs. 2,000 crore in the upcoming Donakonda industrial hub in Prakasam district.

An indication to this effect was given by the officials of the company to State Transport Minister Sidda Raghava Rao who gave a PowerPoint presentation on the infrastructure facilities being created at Donakonda, a British-time airstrip in the district.

The company representatives, including S. Balaan, its India unit Director and its Executive Mandip. S.Tack, explained to the Minister that the company with significant presence in, among other countries, Spain and China, was keen on starting Smart Vehicle Development Centre here. It provided solutions for customers in all types of industries to ensure that their assets and products met quality, health and safety and environmental standards and regulations, they said.

While asking the opposition YSR Congress not to play spoilsport at a time when Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was striving to woo captains of industry and trade in a big way, the Minister on the occasion of the ‘Maha sankalpam’ said overcoming bifurcation blues, Navyandhra clocked the double-digit growth.

The State, which stood second in the ease of doing business last year after Gujarat, was sure to climb on to the top position on this count and forge ahead in development, unleashing the potential of the vast coastline, he asserted.
