For the second consecutive day on Thursday, Congress president discussed the Telangana demand with senior party leaders and Ministers here. Informed sources said the options of a possible decision narrowed down considerably.
Considering the survival of the UPA government at the Centre and of the Congress government in Andhra Pradesh, the party wants to proceed carefully, weighing the pros and cons of fully accepting the demand for a State, partly fulfilling it or rejecting it outright.
The discussion is likely to continue also in the Congress core group, which is meeting on Friday.
Meanwhile, K.T. Rama Rao, Telangana Rashtra Samiti MLA and son of party president K. Chandrasekhar Rao made it clear that nothing short of a separate Telangana was acceptable to the TRS.
