What can be a better gift for TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu, who is on an arduous walkathon - Vastunna Meekosam, than a cap powered by solar energy? The cap shields him from the scorching sun and the solar energy-powered fan generates gentle and right amount of breeze to keep his scalp cool.
A solar fan cap topped the list of presents for Venkatesh Vidivada, an engineering graduate from Sasi Institute of Technology.Mr. Venkatesh said there was a solar panel on the top of the cap. Solar energy is converted into electrical energy, which runs the fan. Its functioning changes automatically depending on the availability of sunlight as there is no battery storage. All the spares are available in the market. “We assembled it and grabbed a yellow cap to suit Mr. Naidu,” he adds.
“Although we have launched it in the market, only children are buying. Each cap is priced at Rs.270. The cost of the cap goes up if we add storage and discharge units,” he says.
Quoting Mr. Naidu, the budding engineer said, “Mr. Naidu told me that the people would call him Hi-tech Babu if he wore the cap.”
No-confidence motion
The TDP chief said on Wednesday that the party would table a no-confidence motion against the government if the situation warranted it.
The TDP had moved a no-confidence motion earlier too but was defeated due to some MLAs who rescued the government for their personal interest, he observed, in response to a question during an interaction with party workers and women during his padayatra.
The TDP is waiting for people to teach the Congress party a lesson and it would not hesitate to make the government seek vote of confidence in Assembly if necessary, he quipped.
