RSASTF sleuths take a peep into the cave in Seshachalam forest on Thursday.

In a rare find, sleuths of the Red Sanders Anti Smuggling Task Force (RSASTF) stumbled upon an ancient cave in the Seshachalam forest during combing operation on Thursday and recovered a huge cache of red sanders logs.

The forest is said to be home to several such caves, but the team led by Sub-Inspector Vijay Narasimhulu, combing the region between Murikikaluva and Thungadona above Thimminaidupalem on the city outskirts, came across the first such spot.

On sighting cleared shrubs, trimmed wild grass and broken tree branches, they grew suspicious and went towards the direction only to find a secret cave. They found ten logs neatly chopped and kept ready for transportation, may be by smaller vehicles such as auto rickshaws.
