Six killed in road accident in Kadapa

Six persons, including five of a family, were killed on Tuesday and five others injured when a SUV they were travelling in rammed into a tree near Rajampeta town in Kadapa.

The mishap took place around 6 a.m. on Kadapa-Tirupati Highway near Puttanavaripalli village in the district when the driver lost control over the vehicle, killing six persons on the spot.

One of the victims, a six-year-old boy identified as Venkataprasad, was resting under the tree with his aunt when the vehicle hit him.

The deceased from the same family were identified as Muravat Ramulu (70), Pentamma (40), Hussain (15), Somu (6) and Rahul (3), police said.

Three seriously injured passengers were admitted to the RIMS hospital here while the vehicle driver, Syudulu was shifted to Tirupathi after first aid here.

A case has been registered and investigations are underway.
